Napa, a place of peace and serenity. Every time I visit I feel like the world slows down, you can take a breather to appreciate the moment and ultimately, relax. We happened to stumble upon Bardessono, a green resort with rooms designed for in-room spa treatments and a restaurant based on all fresh local farm ingredients and wow, was it a wonder. We nibbled on organic omelets with fontina cheese and sipped some mimosas and rose to get the weekend started while we toured around the gorgeous grounds (in Free People dress, Louis Vuitton bag, Tkees sandals). We naturally drove by Opus One, that gorgeous building I’m sure you’ve all passed by and wondered about if you’ve visited the area. With its unveiling in 1984, Opus One was identified as America’s first ultra-premium wine with bottles retailing over $50 – unheard of back then. My tasting sure surpassed that standard; rich and smooth- so good you could sit there for hours just to savor each and every sip. I still can’t decide if I was more fascinated by the delicious tasting or the insane architecture of the building that literally rose out of the earth. We ended up at Hall Winery and shared a bottle with friends on this luscious lawn to unwind before the evening. Not a bad day if you ask me!
