It’s winesday! As I enter wedding crunch time, I decided to embrace wine this week by transforming my collection of corks into crafts to use for my special weekend of events ahead.  No crazy frills or talent necessary here, just a few materials and motivation for DIY Dinner Party essentials with some back to basics bunbun style.IMG_8156IMG_8159Frames always come in handy. Whether your showcasing a memorable moment or labeling a table number, they work simultaneously as decor and detail. All you need to spice your simple frame up is a few old corks and a glue gun. After all, a picture tells a thousand words…IMG_8182 IMG_8163 IMG_8189 IMG_8190IMG_8196Voila! You’ve dressed up your traditional photo and table number instantly. If you’re looking for a bit more, I love to make “cork cards” for seating arrangements. Start by simply slicing a deep sliver in a sturdy cork… IMG_8178Then, take two additional corks and use that nifty glue gun to bind them together as a base. IMG_8183 IMG_8184 IMG_8185Add a strip of glue to the top of the base and lay that simple sliced cork above.IMG_8179You can then use a fancy place card if you have them around, or cut a piece of card stock in half. I love this rustic look below (the non-fancy kind).IMG_8188If you’re short on time, you can always go the route of slicing the cork vertical and inserting the place card at the top. The look is achieved either way.IMG_8187I think a good candle speaks for itself, but if you’re looking to brighten yours up even more, try adding a minimalist bow or knot to tie in the theme. I used cork ribbon but my other go-to is rafia for a natural aesthetic that still radiates romance.IMG_8194 IMG_8204 IMG_8197 IMG_8198IMG_8202Thanks for taking a taste of my tips today! This was only a trial, the polished and perfected corksmanship is soon to come in weeks before I tie the real knot. Will be sure to share all my secrets of the special weekend!
