iBULA! That’s Hello, in Fijian! I’m married and hot off my honeymoon! Everything was so special and I am so excited to share our wedding weekend. I’m still on “Fiji time” so as I preciously prepare our magical marriage story for you with plenty of pics and details, take a breather with me for the next few days (lets be honest, I’m still on vacation), sit back, and unwind into this fairytale land of Fiji…part 1.
We stayed at Intercontinental Fiji located on the gorgeous Natadola Beach on the island of Viti Levu. If you know anything about me, I love a good soft sand beach with palm trees in every view, sun shining on my face and a clear turquoise colored sea. Not to mention, infinity pools everywhere you look, and a private villa with an outdoor jacuzzi to soak in during sunset.A pina colada is always my first cocktail on any tropical vacation. It sort of feels like initiation (in TopShop & Merrilee’s). Cabanas, mini putt-putt course, and paddle boards – my kind of relaxation and recreation for the perfect R&R. Just when ya thought it couldn’t get better…our villa club served happy hour each night with specialty drinks (my favorite being the green exotic martini, right) and nightly canopies to kick off each evening. The resort’s fine dining restaurant, Navo, featured the best of Fiji, with modern mouthwatering hors d’ oeuvres and sensational seafood. It was one of those restaurants where even the simple things including their bread was innovatively prepared, baked in a clay oven served with coconut oil and sea salt. Super jet lagged from the long flight over, sequins were obviously appropriate to keep me fired up through the night and the rest of the vacay, of which there is much more to come!
