So I took these shots on my very last day of a week long vacay in Maui. As I stared at the ocean, I concentrated almost too hard on taking the moment in, as it was one of few I had alone of just me and the sea (okay, and maybe my husband who took a few snaps from behind). I tried to fight this vision of myself back at my computer in Cali, wishing I had embraced this feeling  just a little bit more, lived this minute a little bit better.  But hey, I’m only human and guess what? I’m pretty happy reminiscing on these photos. I’m so grateful for seven days with my family spent in paradise. Days filled with story telling, laughing ’till it hurts, bonding over our fearful extreme adventures (and when I say extreme, I mean literally climbing down 60ft. waterfalls with nothing but let’s say a dainty harness as “support”) and just pure loving memories. Days so physically and emotionally full that needless to say, my camera/iPhone hardly made its way out…hence the lack of family photos (sorry M&D!). I feel very lucky to have been given such an incredible experience with people I love, so instead of being bummed (for lack of a better word) that I’m back in reality (P.S. since when does SoCal June Gloom consist of rain?), I’m just going to smile and use this experience as my fuel for the next few months. Hello Summer. Let’s do this.
