Just one drop of rain and a few strong winds pushed me into this cozy poncho that I’ve been waiting patiently to wear these past weeks. It’s March so I figured why not throw on a hat, riding boots and grab a HOT coffee while I’m at it since this chilly forecast is bound to leave us shortly and then we’re back in spring and summer dresses (which for the record, I’m never mad about). I had another pretty low key weekend which is fine by me especially since the next few months are kinda crazy with travel and events. My husband and I grabbed a drink at Casa Del Mar Friday-one of our many go-to’s in Santa Monica for a sunset session with its giant windows and literal on-the-beach vibe. We dined at Hinterland on Main Street which was phenomenal. We had been there before and it was always good, but whatever they’ve done recently to step up their game has really won this heart over. We shared a simple but delicious kale salad topped with parmesan and some green goddess dressing and a party in your mouth shaved brussels sprouts situation with more parm and some cranberries. Our entrees included ricotta gnocchi and grilled octopus (served with chickpeas and hummus-a dream!) and we ended the night by hitting up the local market to make our own little yogurt sundays (kind of obsessed with the greek yog, honey & nuts concoction I make regularly).
Saturday I brunched at Artisan House DTLA to celebrate the launch of the.beginning.of – think dreamy knits so smooth and soft that yours truly may have slept in hers ; ) I love a good weekend brunch and this one did not disappoint with its truffled egg pizza, enormous salads and never ending sides of scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage. Oh, and the macaroons were too cute. It’s always nice to both brainstorm and catch up with women in the industry and I had so much fun with my fellow blogger babes. I met a couple friends for a moscow mule in the afternoon at Rose Cafe (I’m becoming a weekend regular there) and finished the day off with…this is so not exciting…Joans On Third (but on Ocean). You know the details.
Today we hit Gjusta Venice for some breaky (lots of yummy egg pizzas there and love their almond latte), I got my workout in at Studio MDR (fave-for another post though!) ran some errands and lunched on sandos and sides at good ole’ Huckleberry. I love to use my Sunday afternoons to catch up (or get ahead!) on my week so I’ll probably work the rest of the day with a little Whole Foods Trip in between.
Hope y’all had a great weekend!
