I couldn’t help but flashback to my prep-school plaid days in this look (that’s right, Catholic School Girl right here)! Did you know my friends used to call me “detention queen?” I swear my skirts weren’t that short -at least no shorter than my besties- but I’m just tall (and was especially tall for my age at the time). I had so many detentions once I had to do double a day (trash pickup at lunch, after school detention). Super glam right? The good news is I wasn’t too bad of a kid…it didn’t get much worse than this;)
Anyhoo how about this Joie dress? I love the different patterns against each other with the soft sweater knit in between, and the shift shape makes it super easy to slip on any day of the week! I took my outfit to another level with my little girly girl American Apparel ruffle socks…they actually do add a touch of warmth! And don’t even get me started on the scarf (similar here and here), it was my go-to last year and you better believe I’ll be bringing it back! The rich berry color never goes old and the chunky texture is super cozy. The weather is finallly dropping in SoCal to the point I’m pretty chilly when I wake up, so this ensemble is a perfect layered look for mornings at work that can easily be worn until eve. Add some matching berry lips & you’re set!
Happy Weekend!
