32 weeks! If you saw my Instagram post, you know I’m proud of this 8 month belly that’s created two hearts, two brains, two sets of lungs and so on. Though I’ve been flaunting cute spring dresses and heels on Instagram for you (BTW, new look coming soon!), I’ve truthfully been living in sweatpants the past week or so doing limited activity and fighting a flu or maybe severe morning sickness (again!), with my hub basically holding my hair back and running out for gatorade & gingerale at my beckon call (love him). I was feeling awesome weeks 16 till 30 and all the sudden it’s like BAM, reality hit…you’re having 2 babies Carly and they’re trying to make space in your stomach while pushing and pulling on every organ of yours possible. Hunter always reminds me, “you’re making two Buns!” Of course my body is doing weird things. And then I remember I wouldn’t have it any other way. Luckily I have another nausea prescription, I’m keeping fluids down, eating somewhat normally again, and I’m almost back to myself! Most importantly, the babies are still doing great with their intense kicking of the bladder, rib and all…just how I like it ;) Whether they come early or stick it out in this super bump I can tell they’re already going to be strong little fighters! So here are more deets:
Weeks Pregnant: 32! A major milestone! Every week from here on out is a win!
Food Aversions: this one is tricky. I was eating everything, and then just sandwiches, salads and desserts. When I wasn’t feeling great, it was sorta day by day and now I’m slowly getting back into my normal groove. I can’t eat much at a time though because my actual stomach – not to be confused with my belly, hahaha – is tiny. There is no space for food, so I consume little by little all day long.
Cravings: none. Whatever I can keep down at this point!
Movement: lots! They even respond to us. Or at least I like to think so. Hunter reads books to them and they move, and sometimes he puts his head real close to my tummy and talks to them and they do a movement or two back. As always, the girl is very soft and graceful with her “I’m here Daddy” kicks and the boy makes it pretty well known he’s in da house with his stronger jabs.
Sleep: I fall asleep at like 8!! I love it. But then I’m up at like 3am. Soooo I don’t know if it’s the best situation. I’ve been sleeping with pillows surrounding every body part to cure any aches, and some nights even upright to avoid acid reflux and any future vomit situations (sorry!). Also, Hunter has to help pull me out of bed when I need to get up! Unless I roll over…
Discomfort: just achey. I ice my back and hips a lot and like I said, sleep with tons of pillows (there is hardly any room in the bed for Hunter to squeeze into anymore). I don’t let any pain bother me too much though! It’s another reminder of all the wild things going on in my body while it holds and nurtures these two littles!
Exercise: does sitting on the couch count? I’ve been ordered to take it easy by my doctor so I’ve resigned from any prior Pilates, major walks and such. Since I’m having contractions, I am supposed to stay off my feet as much as possible, but I still go to meetings and social outings as needed :)
Style: Sweatpants?! Actually, I’m still doing shoots here and there to get some more looks done for you guys, so don’t fret. I also still love to wear basics with fun accessories. Now that spring is here, it’s been fun to dress the bump in some florals and maxis for lunch! Don’t forget you can also shop my style in my Maternity Boutique, plus I rounded up some new spring pieces below!
Next Steps: just take it easy from here on out! I was completely spoiled at my shower (which I do plan to post about!), I see my OB every week, and my high risk doctor every few weeks. Nursery is basically ready (photos coming soon) and I’m mentally there (or have been, for like, a year, haha) but we would love for them to cook a bit more. Honestly, the goal is to keep these babies in for as long as possible but we also know God has them in His hands and what will be, will be!
