Wow! Have I put this off! I meant to post this months ago, but plans changed when I hit the hospital early on bed rest and the Buns arrived shortly after ;) We had so much fun putting our nursery together. Mostly because it was a blank canvas that we’d been using as an office and storage space…so we really hadn’t put any effort into the room when we moved in 4 or so years ago. It was the bare minimum with old paint, carpet and mix and match (but not cute mix and match) furniture…you know, one of those rooms (but with amazing purpose obvi!). That said, a fresh coat of paint turned the space around in a day, and off we went running with the nursery of our (okay, my) dreams. I wanted it simple and neutral to accommodate both babies…so grey and white it is with little moon and star accents.
Let’s take a peek!
We went with a standard crib from Pottery Barn Kids and cute star sheets to go with. I’m pretty obsessed with this mobile – it makes a subtle statement without being too in your face (pun intended) and it’s from Land of Nod! The little lamb friends in the corner of the crib are called “Sleep Sheep” and feature four different sounds to calm the babies (btw we take the animals/pillows out when the Buns sleep). I think I originally got one for each crib…and then one for travel? I can’t remember but I’m sure they’ll all be used!
And the elephant-how adorable? It’s a play/cuddle mat that we will eventually put on the floor…we have a lamb version too which you’ll see when you scroll down.
These Graco Rockers are great for hanging out in our living room, and even feeding Slater & Zoe. I like that they have straps so I can hook the babies in and not worry about them rolling around while I’m working or doing things around the house. On that note, I’m writing a post on my favorite baby things so far so more to come there.
Still can’t get over these Ready to Pop bubbles! They were so fun to celebrate with when I was preggo and I still have some left.
Our pillows are from various stores and boutiques (shop below). And sooo many blankets and swaddles ( Aden + Anais has a great selection!). I thought we had too many but I’m finding we honestly can’t have enough! Good for sleeping, playing, walking, burping. Pretty much everything!
These bunnies were the Buns buddies while in the NICU. They’re Jelly Cat…one of my favorite brands.
This guy! I hope the twins can share…but I’m thinking we might need to invest in another rocking animal come a few months (okay, year). Pottery Barn has so many cute ones-I think I have my eye on the elephant …
Slater & Zoe’s Janie & Jack blankets were also used in the NICU. They’re so cozy, and great quality! I love their shade of pink and blue…they add the perfect pop to the Buns’ neutral room and wardrobe.
Our changing pad is called a Keekaroo Peanut. It’s a bit pricey but SO worth it. We originally had a regular changing pad with various cute covers but within 3 days of the Buns being home, every cover was pooped and stained on! The Keekaroo is waterproof – you don’t need any cover and can just wipe any messy stuff off ;) It’s a game changer. Promise.
We’re loving this diaper pail by Ubbi! Although we may need a bigger one!
There’s that lamb! Kinda presh, right? I’m so glad I put some time and effort into our nursery since we’ve been spending quite a bit of time in it. My favorite part of the day is waking up and walking in there to its calming, serene feel with my little people waiting for me. It’s simply the best! You can shop some nursery essentials below and like I said, I’ll be doing a more in depth post on my favorite newborn things in the next week or two…once I test it all out ;)
OMG!!! You did such an awesome job on their room!!! LOVEEEEE it!!
