(kids rompers and mama’s tee by rags)
15 months! Since the babies turned one, things have been busy. We traveled a few times, we got sick for 12 days, we realized we no longer like to be strapped into chairs, car seats or strollers, one of us is no longer taking a morning nap, one of us is, and we are taking our very first steps! Per usual these kids keep me on my toes. Luckily they’re basically the happiest kids ever. Luckily they’re cute. And luckily, I’ve had Dory’s bossy little voice stuck in my head. just keep swimming, just keep swimming.
Speaking of swimming, one of the twins’ latest obsessions is the pool! We’re doing swim classes again and they just can’t get enough. Zoe kicks and giggles when we walk in the door and slater splishes and splashes the entire thirty minutes. They both have giant smiles on their faces. We try to go once every week or two when my hub and I can both make it since you need one adult per kid. It sorta feels like a mommy and me in the water but you actually interact with your babes, instead of just stare at them.
We’re practicing our words. Like mum. And Ba(ll). Or maybe it’s Ba (ttle)? Not sure about that one. The babes have always said Da Da Da, and though I’m not going to officially count it, I’ll let you have that one Hunter:) I’m waiting for their real first word to come out so I will keep you posted. Puppies are still the hot commodity but UPS trucks are up there too! You can expect noises like wuh wuh wuh and vruhm vruhm vruhm to accompany either sighting.
Slater’s taking big steps and Zoe’s taking little ones. They’re so close, but mama’s in no rush at all over here! They’re favorite thing to do right now is probably push things around. Mostly their carts, sometimes the stools, and occasionally the big box that the bounty quicker picker uppers come in. that’s always a fun one.
Since some of you still ask about the diaper drama I will tell you this. It’s not fixed. But it’s (sorta) under control. Depending how you look at it. We have lots of changes done standing up, some of them unfinished, and occasionally a few naked babies roaming around the house! Funny enough, I thought my diaper changing numbers would be going down by now but for some reason they’re going up. How is it that I changed six diapers before 8am this morning?
All. The. Food. They’re eating everything you guys! Which I’ll touch more on in a separate post. We go for our 15 month check-up soon, and I have a feeling they’re catching up in the weight department. This is a pretty crucial time for physical and developmental growth right now so it will be interesting to see where these 33 weekers are at!
Though I feel my babies are growing faster than ever right now, I love watching them morph into little people. Every day just brings so much to see and teach! And of course, be taught. If there are a few things I’ve learned so far in this new chapter of toddlerhood it’s to keep perspective. Be flexible. Adjust. Let go a little. And lean into the chaos. Cuz kids are chaotic! At least mine are:)
