I went to a gorgeous dinner with YUMI in December for mama’s little night out. She needs those every now and then you know. Even if the dinner is about the kids (I mean, it always is right?). Anyway, the dinner was so pretty and even more importantly, incredibly intimate! Which was a plus to me, since I’m very selective with events these days and love when I come home feeling fulfilled with good friendship and conversation. I hung out with some of my mama friends and met a few new mama friends who I’ve become extremely close with. I love connecting with women who are in the same walks of life. Right now that is mamahood for me. While trying to balance career at the same time, and it’s great to meet up with ladies who are adventuring on the same path.
But back to the food. YUMI is delicious!! Yes, I tried it (they actually served it as a fun app at our dinner!) and knowing that it’s healthy, organic, and mama loves it makes it a green light on the Bun menu! I love that pediatricians, nutritionists and chefs design every meal together and pack the most nutrients and flavor into every spoonful. They do all the research so I don’t have to #WINNING! A few weeks ago I got my very first – I mean, our very first – box of YUMI. It was delivered straight to our door!! Does it get any better than that? Talk about freeing up the mental load in the mama brain! And!? The food was displayed in these color coded little boxes, with a watermelon printed ice pack which for some reason I just think is so cute. It also had directions with how to use and store the food. I found that extremely helpful as I’m always asking my friends about what I should freeze, heat up, throw away, etc. We got a mix of starters and blends which was perfect for our transition into solids. Starters consisted of your standard apples, sweet potatoes, peas, carrots etc. The blends were mixed recipes involving multiple ingredients and came with titles like “Sweet Sunshine” (sounds like a cocktail right??), and “What a Peach.” So darn cute.
So did the babies like it? Heck yeah! Actually Zoe was all cranky tears (if you can’t tell in the first pic!), until she took her first bite! YUMI to the rescue. They ate the basic carrots and sweet potatoes up like it was nobody’s biznass. They also fancied the fancy. The “What a Peach” tasted just like it sounds. They were so excited about it! They also loved the “Kiwi Chia” which has Kiwi, Coconut Milk, Chia Seeds, Quinoa, What Germ Oil, Banana & Dates in it. The Buns are so sophisticated right? We’re just training them for Gjelina, and then French Laundry. Obviously.
Since I try to make the Buns their food from scratch I was extremely anxious about their first “packaged” baby food! But as soon as I let go of control, and let in YUMI, I was happy. It definitely helps me out especially when I’m on the go or don’t have the time or energy to make the babies something at home!
