a is for athleisure. in my life any way. I used to never put on active wear unless I was for sure working out. Something about it made me feel totally undone and even sloppy at times. I know I’m supposed to say, everything changed when I became a mom…because I had spit up here and poop there…which is all very true.. but I actually have a lot of fun with the athleisure trend. A trend that is old news, and hopefully not a trend, but a timeless style that will never…ever…go away. I started an athleisure capsule collection that’s really helped me get dressed mindlessly and feel good at the same time, and since I love to mix high end pieces with low, encouraged me to incorporate other things from my closet! For me, the key is to have a few staple leggings and tees like my Beyond Yoga pants and Target or Caslon cotton shirts! I usually put a crew neck sweatshirt on top (favorites are from Varley), and sometimes even layer on a denim jacket (just bought this one from Madewell) or duster coat (Nordstrom has some good ones!) pending the weather. I love these slip on sneakers from H&M and these running shoes by New Balance for days I’m walking all over town.I tend to polish my look off with a good bag (this Gucci crossbody has been on rotation, but totes are great too!), and finish my look off with some sunnies and sometimes even a subtle lip! It’s easy to swap sweatshirts for sweaters or even do a cotton dress instead of leggings & a tee-the trend…style…whatever it is really has unlimited options, and are all so effortless, chic, and most importantly, functional for all that messy mom stuff I mentioned. Below are some of my regulars on rotation, plus a few finds I’m craving! If you’re in style rut, we will get to the rest of your wardrobe but I encourage you to refresh your active wear wardrobe first. I promise it will make you feel better, because whether it’s for Satuday morning exercise, Tuesday afternoon errands, or all day Thursday mom-in around, you and I both know you are going to put on work out stuff at least once this week. Even if you don’t break a sweat.
