So, I know I had said I’d share my resolutions with you, but instead of my long list of eat healthy, sleep more, call my mom, do yoga 2x a week, be a better person (you get the point), I decided to share a few more concrete visions that I believe will be the most challenging in hopes I can come back in a year to reflect on if and how these changes affected me. I can’t tell you how much your support the past year has meant to me and helped bring me to where I am now. If 2016 is anything close to the same- I know I’ll accomplish these babies!

1. Shut It Off:
As a self-employed individual – my hardest obstacle to this day is separating work from, well, life. My husband and I both work for ourselves which is pretty amazing in that we have flexible enough schedules that we can grab morning coffee together, share random Tuesday lunches, and plan sporadic vacations, but although we spend a lot of time alongside one another during the week, the amount of actual quality time is hard to find. Almost every moment I spend at my dining room table (aka desk) or on my couch is associated with “what post should I be writing, what emails do I need to respond to or what kind of marketing tactics should I be getting after?” Rather than, “okay, it’s past 8pm…a computer-less movie night or intimate dinner at our table with the hubs is okay, and most times, needed.”  I plan on writing more on this subject down the road, but in a nutshell – I hope to work harder in 2016, but find boundaries. And Shut. It. Off.

2. Say No:
Sounds like we gotta negative nancy right? Before you jump to conclusions this resolution is not meant to be confused with turning into an anti-social Susan (ok, done with the name game). I’ve always been a yes girl. Plans every night, social butterfly babe-but as I grow older I realize more and more how I yearn for good deep friendships and less surface style soirees. Rather than accepting every invite I hope to pick and choose what I have time for, who i spend that time with. I don’t mean to be selfish but rather more present in the situation and company I do want to be with, and be fully engaged. I often find myself trying to cram too many things into one night or weekend and not only does it decrease that fulfillment of being with others, it limits my precious time with my husband and even my time with just myself :)

3. Write More:
My list of work goals for 2016 is a hefty one but one thing I really hope to indulge in is not more posts, but more in my posts. Don’t get me wrong, part of my job is to constantly produce photos and content to feature fashion, brands etc (which is what I love about what I do) but I plan to work on more thoughtful personal posts this year. They won’t be every day (nor week for that matter) but now that I’m diving into another year of blogging, I want to take a step back to why it is I started this endeavor and take a step up and share that with you.

There are many more personal, relationship and career goals I have for the year but this is my short version of that long list of resolutions that I hope to conquer with your support. I wouldn’t be here without each and every one of you and I’m beyond grateful. I’m excited to embark on this new adventure of ’16 with you-Happy New Year!
