fancy tuesday

Okay maybe not so fancy, but it felt like a different Tuesday than most. I woke up at 5:30am (sometimes I just get so excited to get out of bed and work. #nerdalert!), so by 11:30am I felt like I’d done 1/2 a day’s work and desperately needed a long leisurely lunch. I hit up a friend, our schedules got along and we made it happen. On to the details. There’s a cute vegan place called Plant Food & Wine on Abbot Kinney in Venice that has the most relaxing patio. We aren’t vegan but a healthy meal is always a go on my agenda (plus, it’s hard to get our husbands to these types of spots so it makes a good girls date). We ordered what we thought was a salad with a side of chickpea pancake but wow were we shocked when we were served two massive chickpea “fritattas” the size of our heads (and a minuscule caesar salad that was actually perfect in every way).  It was a delicious situation and we’ll probably be back soon (I’ve also tried their spaghetti squash and truffle “cheeses”- both pretty good)! Anyway, it was refreshing to catch up with a bud and brainstrom at the same time. My mind never stops moving, so it’s nice to find others on your same page who can talk shop but also shop till we drop ; )
