There’s a saying in LA that once you move to the west side, you won’t go back and although I thought I was an exception when I moved to Santa Monica from West Hollywood, I’ll admit that whoever “they” are…are darn right. Although I travel this way for meetings and events often, I rarely venture for pleasure, so when I do, I make it count. Enter Melrose Place. The prettiest street in town that’s calm and quite with just enough action to keep you entertained.
I wore this N Nicholas Off The Shoulder and Denim Skirt for a day out and about. I love the unique but subtle print of the top – it’s dainty and delicate with a touch of boho-chic that makes it easy to mix and match. Although I wore a denim pencil a few weeks ago here, skirts are definitely something I don’t wear enough and I forget how easy it is to incorporate a jean number into the situation. The light wash of this N Nicholas is is perfect for Spring and I love the intricate fray detail at the hem.
You’ve seen me in my Miu Miu shades, White Flynn Clutch (plus similar here) and Steve Madden nude strappy sandals; they’re all my good go-to neutrals that complement just about everything.
And Melrose Place? I highly recommend dropping by for a cup of ‘jo at Alfred’s Coffee, and grabbing a bite at Fig & Olive (the crostini are a must)! Post lunch, it’s always fun to window shop The Row and Equipment and if you’re really in the mood to spoil yourself, get pampered with a facial at Kate Somerville.
Psst – this makes a great activity for Mothers Day, or even a weekend out with girlfriends!
