Hello Monday! Okay, so I got nothing done over the weekend, but I spent my time with my best friend so I feel completely fulfilled and totally refreshed. She lives in San Francisco, and instead of coordinating a visit, we decided to meet in the middle in Santa Barbara. It felt good to book such a spontaneous trip (we literally reserved our hotel room last Wednesday) and get on the road for much needed girlfriend time (and shout out to her for making the 5 hour trip, when I only drove 2 hours! Spoiled alert!). We had lunch at Lucky Penny (delicious pizzas and salads), hit the Urban Wine Trail (Deep Sea Tasting Room, Riverbench and Corks n’ Crowns are my fave), and indulged in margaritas, guac and quesadillas at Cielito. We finished the night off with a pit stop for ice cream at McConnell’s (I went for salted caramel cookie and she always goes for mint/chocolate concoctions)! It sounds like our trip was all about eating and drinking (ok, there was a lot of that) but it was really about talking and laughing. No therapy could have given me the clarity that this weekend did and I’m very grateful for it.

My outfit was not shot on the trip, but it’s a perfect Monday Blue to get the week going! You know I’m a sucker for shirt-dresses so I love this updated L’Academie maxi version-I don’t have anything like it, which is good news for my closet because I don’t think I can justify squeezing one more typical shirt dress in there right now! I’m wearing it with my Rag & Bone Fedora, Chanel Bag (similar here) and Grey Boohoo Lace Ups (sold out but similar here).
